On Monday, January 18, 2021 (Martin Luther King, Jr., Day), Being Peace - Mount Washington Valley held a Peace Walk. Over 30 people participated in all or some portion of the peaceful walk from Eagles Way (entry road to Kennett H. S.) to Schouler Park, North Conway.  Walkers displayed placards with messages of peace.  Several participants created their own signs, and Being Peace provided signs with planet earth and a peace symbol on one side, and varying messages, like "Choose Peace," "Peace Begins Within," "Teach Peace," and "Peace is Love" on the opposite side. Upon arrival at Schouler Park, there was a sharing circle during which participants spoke about what Being Peace meant to them.

Additionally, Schouler Park was the site of a "Peace Tree."  The Peace Tree had several limbs, and next to it was a table of writing markers and cut-out leaves.  Random passersby, as well as walk participants, wrote messages of Peace and hung them on the Peace Tree.  (All messages are included on this website under "Forum")

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, exactly two weeks after the storming of the United States Capitol, Being Peace - MWV conducted a Peace Vigil at Schouler Park from 10 a.m - 11:30 a.m.  This included periods of guided meditation, walking meditation, and short periods of silent meditation.  Energies were focused towards just Being Peace within ourselves, and with hopes towards a peaceful Presidential and Vice-Presidential inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C.  At the conclusion of our meditations in Schouler Park, there was a brief Practice Circle (from an indigenous Americans tradition) of speaking and sharing from the heart, amongst our group of around nine Peace Vigil participants who stayed until the end.
